Barrier 06:22
Thought I had this Yeah didn't I A simple climb To the sky But now I'm slipping, Wishing I could find some thing to break my fall When I thought I had this I need you But I don't know how to get past this I want you But I don't know if I can get through it Through this barrier Just to get to you There were moments I reached you Long before we had to try What once seemed fragile Now withstands the tests of time Barbed wire fences The scars upon your heart Lethal defenses Why did I ever start Trying to find a way Through this barrier? Only hear you say I shall never pass Fallen from the sky Broken on your barrier Remnants of my heart Strewn like shards of glass I need you So here I am lingering On the banks of the Acheron, waiting (I'm not coming back) I'm still waiting (I'm not coming back) Trying (You shall never pass) I'm still trying (You shall never pass, doesn't matter what you do) I need you But I don't know how to get past this I want you But I don't know if I can get through it Through this barrier Just to get to you

Now is the time to tell you What I never should have to I've seen the fear that grips you Wondering what your world is coming to In the midst of a broken promise When all that is cherished is down to you Though you will rarely see me I swear that I'll always be there for you We've spent the best of days together We know, we know it should've been forever I can't imagine, imagine what you're going through I only know, that I'll always be there for you A sudden pain, it grips you Seems like your breath cannot get through In the midst of all these broken promises There is one thing you can hold true That I'll always be there for you We've spent the best of days together We know, we know it should've been forever I can't imagine, imagine what you're going through I only know, that I'll always be there for you I may never live this down and you have not done one thing wrong I will die a thousand deaths for this My dreams, shattered, at what's befallen you we'll spend, we'll spend more days together We have...we have to make 'em last forever It doesn't matter, no matter what you're going through Just lay it all on me, 'cuz I'll always be there for you

Endless Days 06:40
Early morning waiting On a new sunrise A long night of mourning Has helped clear me eyes All the endless times You were never there Oh, I was only slightly aware Of all these, all of your ways Through all those endless days The final morning I get to hold you tight Feeling pain so blinding I've clearly lost all sight Endless sunlight, endlessly fading Endless awakening, endless sleeping Endless laughter, endless weeping I don't want to have another day But it's given anyway But we can change it It can change Endless transformation Endless days Early morning, awakened I catch the new sunrise Endless days awaiting It's time for opened eyes All these endless times I will be there Oh, an end will come Of that I'm well aware Up until that time I change my heart and ways For life fulfilled In our endless days

Odessa 05:56
The whistle blows While the doors close As I watch her depart The earth is tremblin' That train is movin' My heart braces for another day...away As she hits the vanishing point She enters the view of another Oh, if I could only Take the train to Odessa Leave behind all the pain On a train ride through Odessa Through the torrential rain A blissful smile and sudden anger From such a kind and gentle soul Will we arrive at our destination? Will we arrive before we're too old? Enamored by her stunning beauty Mystified by her ports of call If there was just one destination I'd be where I belong Try to get to her true nature Identify with her true soul We arrive at the next station For this I had longed Here we are all smiles and laughter what could befall us at our favorite port of call? Blissfully, we ignore The writings on the wall Another night, another... We took a train ride to Odessa Left behind all the pain Visions of Odessa I still remember the rain Her blissful smile, her stunning beauty Such a kind and gentle soul We've arrived at our destination We've arrived and now we're too old

500 Miles 04:44
Sitting silent, close together I stare at eyes that are looking elsewhere If I say I love you, would you even care? Would you look, and smile my way? When I try to hold you, are you even there? Right beside me, but you're so, so far away I would run 500 miles To be with you again For I long to feel your laughter And see your smiling face The distance grown between us Fuels my pain and my despair I would run 500 miles If love would take me there But every time I try to talk to you I'm standing in this cold silence If I could find the road that leads to you I would travel through the heart of the darkness Cuz I've always loved you And I always will Always loved you And I always will Lost and searching for the road that leads to you I must travel through the heart of the darkness Right through the heart of this darkness Cuz I've always loved you And I always will Always loved you And I always will But we have grown apart for so long Don't know if I can get back to you The distance grown between us Fuels my pain and my despair I would travel any distance If our love would take me there I would run 500 miles To be with you again For I long to feel your laughter And see your smiling face The distance grown between us Fuels my pain and my despair I would travel any distance If our love would take me there

I cried out You came to me With love and comfort in your arms Hold me in your arms And calm this weeping child Hold me in your arms I feel the life in your touch Sunlight shines on us We play on, up until the day You call out I run to you Too late, life's light has swiftly slipped away Our time had just begun Friends, love and games to learn Our time had just begun An early eclipse came and took you from my eyes Tears will never be enough As they fall I pray to God Ask in the name of love Pray with all my heart Ask in the name of love I believe, I will see you again My heart is lonely still Once thriving in your love Now must be moving on Lonely paths are all that seem to lie ahead And I am so afraid to travel to the end You cry out I run to you With love I lift you in my arms Hold you in my arms And calm my weeping child Hold you in my arms I feel the life in your touch I look back, loved ones gone From far away their love passes on I look down, you at my side I pray to always be here to fill your needs Our time has just begun Friends, love and games to learn Our times have just begun No eclipse to ever come and take me from your eyes As I have the light of life With every breath I pray to God Ask in the name of love Pray with all my heart Ask in the name of love I will pray forever to be with you

Of A Feather 05:01

You’re looking kinda high While you’re distracted low So much to see But no need to go You’re screen enraptured You tap, tap, tap, the days away The virtual socialite You’re virtually everywhere Asking what’s this feeling? Just google loneliness You don’t know what this does to us (You don’t know what it means to be) For each moment that comes and disappears (You’re not there) We forgot what it means to be (You’re not there) Wesley save us from this game I care a little less ‘bout what you have to say I’m a little busy Texting anyway This palm attachment It rules the waking day Tells me what to do Tells me where to go When I forget It tells me what to know Oh blessed oracle, The very screen of life You don’t know what this does to us (You don’t know what it means to be) For each moment that comes and disappears (You’re not there) We forgot what it means to be (You’re not there) Wesley save us from the pain Tough times at work Better take that vacay An infinite tether You’ll never get away Your work attachment To that you’ll gravitate Our cultures are fading They’ve seen a better day Etiquette is dying It’s surely passed away Say a benediction Our addiction paves the way

about

This album is dedicated to the notion of doing whatever we can to build and cherish all parent/child relationships, regardless of circumstance. There are so many different ways these can suffer – death, divorce, illness, self-centeredness, etc. – yet they are so vital to everyone's happiness and well-being. Every moment we have to support each other and make each other's lives better is precious.
